Because the panels are translucent, their final appearance depends heavily on whether an opaque or translucent backing layer is used.

The material is non-directional, meaning that layout and installation do not require strict alignment of grain direction, reducing installation complexity. In complex applications that require pattern alignment, technical guidance on two-panel repeat installation should be verified before work begins.
The product is supplied in multiple thicknesses across the Lumiclear and Lumiform resin series to meet different structural strength and light-transmission requirements. Standard panel dimensions are 48 in x 96 in (1,219 x 2,438 mm).

Several technical constraints apply during specification and use:
- Tolerance and thickness: The thickness tolerance is plus or minus 10 percent. Each color coating layer adds an additional 0.010 in of thickness.
- Surface finish: The default factory finish is Matte/Matte Illume.
- Compatible backings: Supported functional backings include ChemShield, Illume, Marker Board, Opaque, Luminous and Reflective Finishes.
- Custom limitations: Not all decorative textures are available in every thickness or panel size, and availability varies by resin type.
- Minimum order: For 0.050-inch panels, a minimum order of 10 panels applies, except for wall protection projects.
